Our Design
The intent of a hospice facility is to provide care and comfort in the final days of
one’s life. Extraordinary measures were taken to assure that each patient and
visitor was accorded the necessary amenities. Upon entering the house one gets a sense that they are indeed home. Wood floors, beautiful interior furnishings and original artwork convey the warmth and comforts of home.
The two, eight-bed patient wings flank a soaring skylit atrium. Natural light
enhances the private patient rooms. Each room opens onto a private patio with
views to the lush grounds. Each wing houses a spa room as well as a living room with fireplace for family gatherings. The meditation chapel offers solace as well as views to the water feature. Beautiful stained glass windows and skylights enhance the space. Family gathering spaces, dining room and a children’s room provide a full range of opportunities for patients and their guests.
The grounds provide walking paths with intimate seating areas and access to
overlook piers at the edge of the reflection pond. Planting beds with annual and
perennial flowers, as well as ornamental trees, line the walk paths. Strategically
placed birdhouses and feeders cater to the wild life of the area. Pets are welcomed and also provided with an outdoor area that is uniquely their own.
